医学英语教学

Introduction

This highly interactive specialist course is for doctors, medical students and other medical professionals who need to or want to converse with English Speaking doctors and patients. Two parts are offered in the class.

Part I is the General Medical English unit including 8 blocks, which are systematically designed to familiarize participants with the main departments, medical team members as well as the supplies, facilities in the hospital. As a foundation for effective doctor-patient communication, basic clinical anatomy, history taking, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis are also introduced in this unit.

Part II is Body Systems unit, which is intended to teach participants specific language being used by specialists in different departments. 16 blocks are in this unit, coving a broad range of topics which will assist students to learn how to communicate with patients and medical colleagues in their interested fields. Specialists with overseas training experiences will be invited to give the class or doing role play together with lecturers during the part II teaching procedure. Detail teaching plans and basic vocabulary or terms will be freely provided to students each time.
